‘Stargirl’ season finale: Heroes united

With Pat enslaved by Brainwave’s reprogramming, Courtney’s fate has never looked so dire.
And that’s how we left “Stargirl” last week.

Warning! Minor spoilers ahead! Massive teasing, tho’! You better catch this hour!

“Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E Part Two,” written by Stargirl co-creator Geoff Johns and directed by Greg Beeman, opens “Three minutes ago” on the Blue Valley High School football field.

One unlucky student gets a face full of tuba.

The view of Blue Valley as all the adults become immobile, prisoners to the brainwashing, is truly chilling.

But hey, the Blue Valley Cinema is playing “The Haunted Tank.” Anyone else want to take in the show? Hands?

Back in those tunnels, Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) utters a truth some viewers have been waiting all season to hear.

Hourman (Cameron Gellman) and Wildcat (Yvette Monreal) find a moment to talk about God.

It’s been building all season, and “Stargirl” delivers: The Justice Society and the Injustice Society finally brawl. There’s no holding back.

One thing about “Stargirl” that separates it from the Arrowverse: You can actually see the action and who is pummeling who.

Oh, and Solomon Grundy? Just as ferocious as you could ever imagine.

Everyone in the new JSA gets a chance to shine.

Even though she is not in the tunnels, Dr. Midnite (Anjelika Washington) becomes a target.

And like any battle, the combatants ultimately stand changed by what they’ve done and what they’ve endured.

The finale will test your heartstrings.

Johns also plants enough twists and surprises to set up an epic sophomore season nobody saw coming. You’re going to be thinking about this episode for some time.

Fair warning: Make certain you watch the episode through to the final end credits.
